Importance of dialog and cooperation between Serbia and Al Azhar

Cairo, April 17th 2013 - Grand Imam of Al Azhar Ahmed Al Tayeb received Serbian Ambassador in Egypt Dragan Bisenic. Serbian Ambassador expressed his respect to great role of Al Azhar, stressing importance of Al Azhar institution in Islamic world and Egyptian society in period of transformation of the country.

During the meeting was spoken about further cooperation between Al Azhar and institutions in Serbia. Serbian Ambassador informed Grand Imam Ahmed Al Tayeb about current development in Serbia and in the region as well as about position of Muslim community in Serbia. Serbian Ambassador emphasized role of religious communities promoting understanding, peace and cooperation on the Balkans and preserving moral virtues of the societies.

Both side stressed importance of establishing and continuation of cooperation and agreed to continue dialog which will benefit to both sides.
