BIRTH REGISTRATION OF A CHILD

In order to register the birth of a child born in Egypt in the Register of Births and the Register of Citizens of the Republic of Serbia, it is necessary to provide the following documents:
1. Completed request form (PrijavaRodjenjaDeteta.doc) in Cyrillic for register into the Register of Births of the Republic of Serbia signed by both parents.
2. Completed request form (DrzavljanstvoUpis-clan 9 i 10.doc) in Cyrillic, to register into the Register of Citizens of the Republic of Serbia.
3. Original Egyptian Birth Certificate translated into the Serbian language in Cyrillic. Before you translate it, you have to legalize the Birth Certificate at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Egypt.
4. Photocopies of valid biometric passports of the Republic of Serbia for both parents (if one parent is a foreign citizen, please submit a copy of a foreign passport). If the parents do not possess valid biometric passports of the Republic of Serbia, it is necessary to submit a photocopy of proof of citizenship of the Republic of Serbia for both parents.
5. Serbian Marriage Certificate. If the marriage is not registered in Serbia, it is mandatory to register it via this Embassy.
6. A child between 14 and 18 years of age must sign a statement (SaglasnostDeteta.doc) in front of the authorized person, that he/she agrees with the request submitted by the parents;
7. The consular fee is 9 EUR.
Notes:
• Forms should be fulfilled in Serbian Cyrillic. If the child's name is in English language and there is a difference in spelling in English and Serbian language, it is necessary to state the name of a child in Serbian Cyrillic and its English name after, that should be in parenthesis. For example: Ејми Џонсон (Amy Johnson) or Ајем Мохамед (Ayem Mohammed)
• Egyptian Birth Certificate has to be translated into Serbian language, with the full name of child in Serbian Cyrillic, in the way it is pronounced.
• In accordance with the new Law on Administrative Procedure, one of the parents may sign a statement that the competent authority in the Republic of Serbia may officially obtain the data necessary for the decision-making process (ZUP.Obrazac.МК.doc).
• Original documents will be sent to the Register Office of the adequate municipality in the Republic of Serbia, by the Embassy, and will not be returned to the applicant.

 

MARRIAGE REGISTRATION

In order for the marriage concluded in Egypt to be registered in the Register of Marriage in Serbia, it is necessary to provide the following documents:
1. Completed request forms (PrijavaBraka.doc) for the registration of marriage, signed by both spouses. Signatures must be notarized by the authorized official of the Embassy;
2. The statement about new last name for spouses (IzjavaOPrezimenu.doc). Signatures must be notarized by the authorized official of the Embassy;
3. Original Egyptian Marriage Certificate translated into Serbian Cyrillic. Before you translate it, you have to legalize your Marriage Certificate at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Egypt;
4. Photocopies of valid biometric passport or ID card of the Republic of Serbia for both spouses (if one spouse is a foreign citizen submit a photocopy of a foreign passport);
5. The consular fee is 14 EUR.
Notes:
• If this is not the spouses’ first marriage, it is necessary to submit birth certificates from Serbia wherein the "notes" entry is made that the previous marriage has been divorced. This is not necessary if, in accordance with the new Law on Administrative Procedure, a statement is submitted to the competent authority in the Republic of Serbia to officially obtain the data necessary for the decision-making process (ZUP.Obrazac.МК.doc).
• Marriage Certificate in Arabic must have a translation into the Serbian language.
• Original documents will be sent to the Register of Marriage of the adequate municipality in the Republic of Serbia and will not be returned to the applicant.

 

DEATH REGISTRATION

If a Serbian citizen dies in Egypt, it is necessary to register the occurrence of death in the Register of Death in the Republic of Serbia. In order to do that, you should provide the following documents:
1. Completed request forms (PrijavaSmrti.doc) for the registration of death. The signature of the person that is submitting the application must be notarized by adequate Egyptian authority, if the request is not submitted in person,
2. Original Egyptian Death Certificate, translated into Serbian Cyrillic. Before you translate it, you have to legalize the Death Certificate at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Egypt;
3. Valid passport or identification document of the Republic of Serbia of the deceased. (If the decedent had no valid passport or identification document of the Republic of Serbia, it is necessary to submit any old document with the proof of the decedent’s last residence in Serbia)
4. The consular fee is 11 ЕУР.
Notes:
• Egyptian Death Certificate must have a translation into the Serbian language
• Original documents will be sent to the Register of Death of the adequate municipality in the Republic of Serbia and will not be returned to the client.
• In case you need to transport the deceased back to Serbia for burial, you need to apply for a Covering Letter called Sprovodnica.
